The original rocks we produced from a high carbon steel shell in the our traditional
gun metal grey, has been expanded to include red, blue and yellow. Additionally, we have
updated our rubber handles to provide more cushioning and colors to match the new shells.
Plus we have made the increased the thickness of the pans to provide an even stronger stone.
The curling stones still provide you with the feel of a real curling stone but for a fraction
of the price. The high carbon steel shell is teflon coated and will not rust. It is filled
with high strength concrete, has a thick rubber bumper for better take-outs, is topped
with a HDPE board has a solid galvanized steel handle. They weigh about half the weight of
a real 42lb curling stone, and can be thrown while simply crouching; or out of a curling
hack (which we also sell if you require) or thru a push stick for us older folks. They
slide really easily on normal ice, do curl a bit and the rubber cushioning allows for great
take-outs without damaging the stones. Trust me folks, they can take a beating.
I built this set to replace our old coffee can set and they worked fabulously on our lake
curling rink the last four years. We were able to get many weeks worth of curling over
the last few winters and look forward to another great winter on the ice.
All skill level of curlers have used our stones on the lake, which tested their performance
and durability, and they came thru with flying colors. Feedback from many of customers has been
very positive and has added another level of fun and excitement to their families cottage
activities. Various organizations and charitable/service clubs have purchased the stones for events
they hold and have provided great feedback.
As mentioned new curling stones are outrageously expensive and used ones are rarely found and
also are very expensive. I just saw a used set of 16 for sale for $3,000!! A new set
of 16 curling stones are going to cost well over $12,000.00 if you add the tax!! Other competitors
sell theirs for well over approximately $200.00 per rock and then you have to add taxes and
shipping.
The cost of our curling stones are currently as follows:
Set of 4 - Regular Price - $336.00 + HST
Set of 8 - Regular Price - $672.00 + HST
Set of 12 - Regular Price - $1008.00 + HST
Set of 16 - Regular Price - $1344.00 + HST

Many of our customers have used the rocks to build a game called Crokicurl, which is a game

We also sell accessories like curling hacks and puch sticks. The wooden hacks are built of
wood with a rubber push-off pad; and can be drilled into the ice and allow for a more
realistic and authentic game of curling. The cost is $80.00 + HST for a pair of hacks.
Additionally, new for the 2021/2022 season is the introduction of Olson curling push sticks
for those that don't want to crouch to throw the stones. The cost is $80.00 each + HST.
We are located in the North Bay, Ontario area and can delivery the stones on a best effort
basis to locations in central and southern Ontario, however, if you need the rocks asap then
you'll have to travel to the North Bay area to pick them up.
Alternatively, if you need them shipped then there will be additional charge of $4.00 per rock
for packaging material and transport to the North Bay Manitoulan Transport depot.
We can offer two shipping options for you. We can ship thru Manitoulan Transport
to their depot in the closest city/town near you and you'll need to arrange pickup. If you
choose this option, then when the stones arrive at their depot, Manitoulan Transport will call you to pick
them up and you will have 24 hours to retrieve them or you may incure storage charges. The other
option is that the stones can be delivered to a business in your town/city, but the business has
to be open during normal business hours (8am to 5pm) and must be willing to accept the boxes on
your behalf. Individual quotes for this option can be provided by Grampa's Woodshop.
We will provide you with the packaging and shipping costs when when we provide you the quote.
For the depot pickups, here are the shipping quotes as of the spring of 2021, and probably have changed,
so when we provide you a quote, we'll provide you with the actual shipping charge. We'll be updating the
costs below and provide the validity date in days to come.
